WIS Campus
The Campus
At Winterton Infants’ we are very proud of our school campus, although it is not a new building, it is well maintained, and provide us with a wealth of space and, as a result, it is put to very good use. The campus itself comprises of the main school building, two playgrounds and a staff car park. High speed wireless Internet is available throughout our campus with Interactive screens in all classrooms. The main school building comprises of a welcoming reception area; general office; ExecutiveHeadteacher, Deputy Headteacher and Federation/ Admin offices; staff room; whole school hall with inside PE facilities and which is also used at lunch time for dining purposes; school kitchen, Nursery facilities including outside learning provision, 7 classrooms and the Rainbow Room which is used for meetings and by the Pastoral Team. There is also a well-stocked library and adult and children toilet blocks which include disabled facilities. We have a large, main playground, which has a variety of play equipment. Key Stage 1 pupils play comfortably and safely at playtimes and lunch times within this area on a daily basis. We also have a second, smaller playground, which again has appropriate play equipment and is shared by Nursery and Reception pupils for learning through play and relaxation. There are several other grassed areas around school which are used for a variety of activities. As we do not have a school field, we use the Winterton Community Academy sports field, which is easily accessible through a security gate and provides us with excellent grassed sports facilities.
As space is very limited, the school car park is for staff only and visitors through prior arrangement. There is a disabled parking space. Parents/Carers are requested not to use the school car park for health and safety reasons; access to school should be through the pedestrian gate and footpath only. All areas of the school campus are kept securely locked throughout the school day and again, visitors may only access the school grounds through the pedestrian gate and footpath. This leads to the main reception area where all visitors sign in using our electronic system, with adherence to school policy and procedures.
