Pupil Premium

About

The Government believes that the Pupil Premium, which is additional to main school funding, is the best way to address the current underlying inequalities between children eligible for free school meals (FSM) and their peers by ensuring that funding to tackle disadvantage reaches the pupils who need it most.

Allocation of funding is based on pupils who have been eligible for FSM at any point in the last 6 years and those who have been in care for over 6 months, continuously.

Funding is only allocated where parents have applied for FSM, so it is vital that you claim if you are eligible.  For further information please speak to any of the admin team officers who will be happy to support you in your application.

The aim of Pupil Premium funding is to narrow the gap in achievement between children who are eligible to receive pupil premium funding and their peers.
